Anxiety Attack and Anxiety Disorder - What is it?

6:41 am

What is an Anxiety Attack, or anxiety disorder

Not nice, that’s what it is, being an anxiety disorder sufferer myself I can tell you that it is one of the most worst experiences that you will feel. It feels like your chest is contracting, your throat closes and no matter how hard you try you just can’t seem to get any oxygen or breath.

It is at that moment that you feel literally like you are going to die. As I said, its not a pretty experience.

Stages of Anxiety Attacks and Anxiety Disorder

The most describle comment about an anxiety attack is “A sudden overwhealming fear that comes without warning and without any obvious reason”.

Talking from personal experience here, there is not really anything particular that will set off an anxiety attack, however it can be, if you have suffered from an incident earlier on that triggered a panic attack (anxiety attack). Then being placed in a situation that reminds you of that can re-trigger another attack.

The first thing you start to notice is fear, being scared for no apparent reason. Followed by uncontrollable shaking of the hands and or other body parts.

This is related to the fear, imagine being so scared that you can’t stop shaking, this is what this feels like.

It builds up over the space of 30seconds up to a few minutes where it will usually reach a climax. During the worst of it crying uncontrollably is common, then followed by not being able to breath and chest pains.

I would imagine that a panic attack or anxiety attack feels like having a heart attack at the worst of it.

External factors that cause Anxiety Attacks.

There are a few factors that can bring on an anxiety or panic attack, some of these are, extensive drug use, alcohole abuse, and other medication abuses.

Also suffering a traumatic experience which you haven’t dealt with fully can have bring on anxiety attacks in the future.
